My Story
Erica Davis has been doing hair in Chapel Hill and Durham for over a decade. She founded Blossom Hair Studio in 2025.
Erica had an unusual journey towards becoming a hairdresser. Born and raised in Roxboro, NC, she attended Appalachian State University where she earned a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She then moved on to the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she graduated in 2008, right into the Great Recession. The beauty industry in general had always interested her, and after struggling to find a foothold in the legal world, she decided to attend the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill. She graduated from Aveda in 2011 and has been happily doing hair ever since. She has furthered her education with classes at Bumble and bumble University and Whittemore House in New York, as well as Oribe and R+Co in Miami.
Erica’s approach to hair is to work with you to figure out what will work with your lifestyle. She helps you craft a style that is as low maintenance or high maintenance as you want. If you just want to cover your grays, or maintain the haircut you’ve loved for years, she’s happy to have you in her chair. If you love to experiment with different looks, she’s happy with that as well. While some stylists specialize in one kind of service, Erica thrives on variety. She loves pixie cuts as much as she loves long bouncy layers. She’s always happy to have maintenance clients as well — if you love your look and want to keep it, she’ll help you stay on top of it.
